Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapy services help participants maintain or regain the skills needed for daily living, from self‑care to leisure activities. Through personalized treatment plans, our therapists provide targeted exercises, adaptive techniques, and training in the use of assistive devices. Working closely with families and our care team, we focus on promoting safety, independence, and quality of life for every participant.

Functional Assessment & Care Planning
The OT evaluates how physical, cognitive, and psychosocial conditions affect a participant’s ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, bathing, eating, and grooming. They assess safety, endurance, coordination, and the ability to participate in meaningful activities. Findings are used to develop individualized treatment plans as part of the participant’s overall care plan with the interdisciplinary team.
Treatment may include exercises to improve fine and gross motor skills, coordination, and range of motion; training in energy conservation; instruction in the use of adaptive equipment; and strategies to compensate for physical or cognitive limitations. OTs may also recommend modifications to the home or personal routines to increase independence and safety.

Therapeutic Interventions

Education & Collaboration
The OT educates participants and caregivers on safe and efficient ways to complete daily activities, the correct use of adaptive tools, and techniques for injury prevention. They work closely with nurses, social workers, and other therapists to ensure care is coordinated and goals are met, while monitoring progress and adjusting treatment as needed.
